Imperial tour

Edit This

Follow the route of the Kangxi Emperor's southern tours, visiting some of great cities of late Imperial China: the capital Beijing, to scared peak of Mount Tai, then the cities of the Yangzi River: Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Nanjing; the gardens of Suzhou, finally finish off in the modern metropolis of Shanghai, then a quiet stroll in Hangzhou. The entire tour should take two weeks at a minimum.

China's South West - the provinces including Hunnan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Tibet (and, at a stretch, Qinghai) - are among the most fascinating in China.

(The other two scenically delightful ones are China's North East - including provinces Heilongjiang and Jilin - and the North West - which largely means Xinjiang province.)

The South West is perhaps the most beautiful because it is not only scenically stunning, but also because it is home to the majority of China's 56 ethnic minorities.  (See Paul Noll's site - more..
