Hong Kong Disneyland
Edit ThisHong Kong Disneyland opened in the Fall of 2005. There are about one-third the
number of attractions of most Disney resorts, but a great introduction
to the Disney culture for first-timers.
The park definitely targets Asian visitors--you'll see Mickey Mouse in a silk Chinese shirt and the vast majority of dishes offered in the restaurants are Asian. Most attractions are in dual-language (Cantonese and English) mode. You can do the whole park in
one day.
The park is easily accessed via a 30-minute tram/subway ride from Hong
Kong or more..

Tung Chung
Edit ThisThe last of the Sung Dynasty emperors and their 'travelling palace' stayed for a while in the valley behind this ancient fishing village, which is a pleasant 90-minute downhill walk from Po Lin Monastery. Be sure to visit Hau Wong Temple, a lovely tiered-roof structure from the 18th Century, as well as the harbourside Qing Dynasty fort. This cannon-decked early 19th Century battery was built to repel pirates and invaders.
