Bars and Cafes in Kowloon
Edit ThisKowloon bars and cafes are thought of as among the best in Asia, reflecting Hong Kong's rich and multicultural history, offering something for every traveler no matter what the taste or budget.
Sumptuous Surroundings
Situated in the glorious Regal Kowloon Hotel, Regala Cafe and Dessert Bar is a gorgeously decorated eatery serving healthy sandwiches, salads, herbal teas and pasta dishes. It is famous for its broad selection of hot and cold desserts and plethora of specialty teas and coffees. Its opening hours (10 a.m. to 12 midnight daily) make it perfect for brunch, lunch or dinner.
Worth the Look
Club 71 is at the top of many people's list of Kowloon
bars and cafes. It is quite hard to find, located in a basement near
Peel Street but when you hear the music and meet the clientele (which
consists of travelers and locals alike) you'll realize why it was worth
the look.
Gay and Lesbian
Kowloon has one of the most vibrant gay and lesbian scenes in Southeast Asia and Temptation is the number 1 bar to go to if you are gay or lesbian. Its evening entertainment is provided by an exciting international showcase of DJs. It is located at 21/F, the Lamma Tower on 12, Hau Fook Street.
A Great Mix of Food and Drink
One
of Kowloon's most unique cafes is Cafe Kool which not only has a great
selection of international alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
available but features an 'open kitchen' arrangement allowing customers
to see how its international buffet is prepared and cooked. One can opt
for the buffet or order a la carte. This is a Kowloon bars and cafes
must see!
Be a Singing Sensation
No trip to Kowloon would be complete without the obligatory karaoke session making a fool of yourself in public. Probably the best place to do this is the legendary Red Box Karaoke on Observatory Road. Travelers remark upon the enthusiasm and singing speed of local performers and how the crowd seems to love you however good or bad a vocalist you may be.
For a Great Night Drinking
Among the best Kowloon bars and cafes, the Lobby Lounge at the Marco Polo Hotel holds the Guinness World Record for the number of different types of rum served anywhere. If you can't have enough fun doing that of an evening then you can enjoy the breakfasts, teatime treats, lunches and cocktails in this pretty, low-key rendezvous place for the sharply-dressed and fashion conscious.Contributors
