Getting There

Air: There are five flights from Haikou to Beijing (20 weekly, 4 hours), Guangzhou (8 daily, 50 minutes), Shenzhen (5 daily, 1 hour), Hong Kong every week (1 hour), as well as a weekly connection to Bangkok.

A ferry service also runs to Guangzhou. Haikou Melian Airport (open on 25 May 1999) is 25km from Haikou. You will pay 10-15 yuan by taxi.

Phoenix is the name of the airport of Sanya, with flights to Beijing and Shanghai twice a week and Guangzhou 15 times a week.
