-----
There are plenty of Guangzhou things to do such as shopping, restaurants and museums as it is an important city in south China. There are other activities for those that want a thrill and like to explore. These activities include not only seeing the fabulous sights and scenery but seeing them up close and personal.
Grand Spectacle of the World
The Grand Spectacle of the World is found in Tianhe Dongpuhuang village which includes 3 plant wonders, 9 natural wonders and 6 different landscape wonders. White Clouds Mountain
Those who love hiking and rock climbing should visit White Clouds Mountain. This is actually a mountain range with more than 30 peaks. There are many scenic spots such as The First Peak on Earth, Shuiyue Pavilion and Dripping Rock. There are 7 different tourist spots in this area and while you can enjoy the scenery there is also spots for bungee jumping, grassing and slideway racing. For peak views, visit in September, October and November as the weather is best for rock climbing. There are several buses that will take you up the mountain.

One of the largest sightseeing parks is Yuexiu Park. There are 7 different mountain peaks in this park and several lakes including Nanxiu Lake, Beixiu Lake and Dongxiu Lake. The stadium is the spot for many international sports matches and there are many scenic sights including a museum and flower house. The best time to visit is in the spring as there is a garden fair and the temperature is very comfortable.
Temple of the 6 Banyan Trees
The Temple of the 6 Banyan Trees is well known around the world as this monastery has an extensive history. This is one of many Buddhist temples that can be visited in the city. The temple was originally constructed in A.D. 537 and has been rebuilt several times after being ruined by fire. The ticket will cost 10 Yuan. If you want to go to the top of the temple this is an additional 15 Yuan. You can get to the temple on the public bus as well.

Canton Fair
Edit ThisGuangzhou is not a great place for sightseeing, but famous for shopping and food. Overall, it is more business friendly than for tourists. The Canton Fair was held twice a year, accounted for 1/3 of all trades taken place in China. The fair is held in April and October. Make sure to avoid this period unless you want to go there to attend the fair.
Where's the fair? There are two major locations:
Pazhou Complex, located in Pazhou Island in southeast part of Guangzhou.
Liuhua Complex, located in Yue Xiu district.

Not a good place for family or foreigners
Edit ThisGuangzhou is very polluted and dirty and most of it's citizens are rude and inconsiderate. If you like heavy pollution, people that spit in restaurants, elevators and hotel hallways, or if you enjoy getting stared at by the hoards of peasants moving through the Tianhe district then by all means go.
I have lived in the CBD area of Guangzhou for a year and as a foreigner living and working here I can honestly say I have never been to a more unfriendly city in my life.
Asking for directions from bus drivers or the like will only yield dirty looks and rude comments. The more..
