This city is a major hub of China and has plenty of historical attractions, beautiful scenery, modern attractions, shopping, dining and much more.

Chimelong – 3 Different Parks

If you have kids, then you need to visit the Chimelong Paradise which is an internationally known theme park and the largest in China. There are more than 70 rides and 10 roller coasters. You should not miss the water stunt show which is the largest stunt show in the world. There are rides for everyone in the family including indoor children’s areas, rides for thrill seekers and even a water section where you will definitely get wet. You can get to the park by using the train, taxi or bus.

The largest permanent circus in the world can be found at Chimelong.  There are many award winning acts from around the world. All performances start at 7:30 each evening and run for 90 minutes.  Chimelong Water Park claims many attractions are the best in the world--the largest wave pool, the fastest speed slide and the longest lazy river.  There are rides for everyone in the family. Make sure to check what is considered swimming gear as board trunks for men cannot be worn.

Everyone in the family will enjoy the films found at Oriental Studio 2000. This studio contains t2movie sets that detail the past and focus on Kung Fu. There are 3 performances throughout the day and you will see stunts using flying wires, snowmakers, collapsible facades and smoke blowers. Several of the dining options are designed like old films.

See the Animals

The largest zoo in China is found in Guangzhou’s  Xiangjian Safari Park. This zoo has over 20,000 animals that are happy and kept in gorgeous natural areas. Some of the animals include polar bears, the giant panda, giraffes, Bengal tigers, golden haired monkeys, koalas, elephants and white tigers. This is a great place to spend the day.

Dining for Everyone

Most of the dining options focus on family and business establishments. There are many different cuisines to be found, such as Cantonese, Sichuan and Hunan. While you can find some truly spectacular and unusual dishes it is also possible to find chain restaurants recognizable around the world for those of your family who are picky eaters.  A few suggestions include FG Fine Foods, 6th Avenue Café, Lei Garden Restaurant, Tang Chinese Garden, Banana Leaf Thai Restaurant, Buongiorno, Pizza Hut, Le Seine French Restaurant, Gail’s Palace and Jewel of India, to name a few.

Some of the most notable scenic spots include Shamian Island, Baiyun Mountain, the Pearl River and the sunlight reflection off the Shimen found in Shijing Town. Those looking for a bit of history and culture should visit the Luofeng Temple, Yuyan Classical Learning Academy, Wenchang Temple, Wanghai Pavilion and Jinhua Temple.
