Fujairah Museum
This appealing museum offers a look into traditional ways of life as well as ancient cultures. There are exhibits throughout this museum that give tourists an accurate account of how life has evolved in this town in the United Arab Emirates. The Fujairah Museum is also home to a number of archaeological artifacts such as weapons from the Bronze and Iron Ages, ancient pottery, silver coins and carved vessels. Fujairah Heritage Village
Before oil was discovered in this region, Fujairah was a simple fishing village. The Fjuairah Heritage Village presents life-sized replicas of fishing boats and houses displaying tools, pots and household items that would have been used prior to industrialization in this area. Operating over nearly 6000 square meters of space, the Fujairah Heritage Village gives tourists insight into the culture, traditions, history and economy of this small town. Located near another top tourist location, the Fujairah Fort, the Fujairah Heritage Village is perfect stop for adults and children alike.
Fujairah Fort
Built over 360 years ago, this ancient fort rests on a hill looking over the Indian Ocean and is surrounded by the remains of homes that make up the Fujairah Heritage Village. The oldest fort in the United Arab Emirates, this building has served as home to the ruling family of this emirate as well as a defensive fortress. Free of charge, one can roam the surrounding grounds and can view the early gates, towers, fortifications, town walls and other sights from an observation deck.
Ain Al Madhab Gardens
Also referred to as the "National Park," the Ain Al Madhab Gardens is a large park with a playground and access to the Fujairah Fort and the Fujairah Heritage Village where traditional costumes, houses and tools are on display. Not only a spot to enjoy beautiful landscaping, the Ain Al Madhab Gardens is also home to 2 swimming pools that are fed by mineral springs that flow into the city from the Hajar Mountains. A perfect spot to take a therapeutic soak as well as experience the culture of Fujairah, the Ain Al Madhab Gardens offer it all.
