Day Trips in Fujairah
Edit This
With the number of activities in Fujairah being fairly limited, it is good to know that it is just a short drive to neighboring towns to experience a variety of other local activities such as safaris, diving, hiking and shopping.
Diving
Diving along the coasts of the UAE is a popular pastime as the marine life is abundant. There are professional diving centers along the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah and Ajman that include lessons snorkeling, diving and deep sea diving. The length of the diving sessions vary based on your level of advancement, age and the amount of time you have.
Safaris
In Dubai and Abu Dhabi there are 2 locations within a 2 to 3-hour drive of Fujairah that offer an amazing safari experience. A true taste of the Arabian high desert, a desert safari gives you the best experience of what the Middle East has to offer. With a variety of safaris to choose from such as dune buggies, all-terrain-vehicles, camel and bus trips, the safaris also range in duration to day, evening and overnight trips so you can easily plan a safari around your other activities.
Hiking
Being that the majority of Fujairah is made up of rocky mountains, it would only make sense that some of the activities in this region would involve the geography. Hiking opportunities are numerous around Fujairah. A wadi is a rocky stream bed that remains dry except during the rainy season. The mountain range surrounding Fujairah is littered with wadi. A short drive outside Fujairah will take you to the Wadi Bashing, Wadi Siji, Wadi Mai and the Wadi Saham. Pack a sack lunch and dress in cool clothing for a day of hiking along the riverbeds and foothills of the Hajjar mountain range.
Shopping in Dubai
About a 2-hour drive from Fujairah, Dubai offers the typical activities you would expect from a busy town. Dubai gives tourists a variety of shops to visit such as Burberry, Calvin Klein, Coach, Dolce and Gabanna and Tiffany and Co. With countless large malls, not counting dozens of smaller shopping centers and boutiques, this city is ideal for shopping.
