Edit This

Al Ain is the 4th largest city in the United Arab Emirates. The population is estimated at more than 380,000 residents, and the city is often referred to as "The Garden City," due to its immense greenery. There is a feel in Al Ain that brings an Arabic authenticity, that isn't often found in the other large cities within the UAE. Many visitors come to Al Ain to escape the humidity of the desert, and to relish in the oasis of The Garden City.

While visiting Al Ain you will almost certainly find yourself in search of refreshments and light eats, so here is a guide to the Bars and Cafes of Al Ain:

Bravo Tapas Bar

Bravo Tapas Bar is a Spanish-inspired bar, serving light tapas and drinks. The bar itself presents a very social atmosphere for casual drinks, and a classic menu of tapas that are done very well. The tapas are made from Spanish delicacies usually shipped from abroad, and the drinking spot is a good venue to spend time mingling with friends or business colleagues. Bravo Tapas is informal, and a good spur of the moment choice.

Horse and Jockey

Horse and Jockey is the only pub in Al Ain, and is located within the InterContinental Al AinHotel. The Horse and Jockey is your typical pub style bar and grill, with the dark wood finishes, TVs on every wall showing all the latest international sporting matches and a comfort food menu serving classics such as bangers and mash, burgers, curries, and fish and chips. If you're looking for some familiarity for watching a match, grabbing a pint of beer, and finishing off with a basket of chips, this is the place for you.

Paco's Bar

Paco's Bar is located within the Hilton Al AinHotel and offers classic Tex-Mex dishes such as fajitas, burritos and other Tex-Mex favorites. The bar is stocked with a variety of decent tequilas, as well as many other spirits, wines and beers, and Paco's offers live entertainment, TVs for sports and stays open until 1 am daily (2 am on Friday and Saturday nights). Paco's is open for lunch and dinner, and it's advisable to dress smart-casual.

Leisure Chill Out Cafe

Leisure Chill Out Cafe is a good option for sandwiches, breakfast, coffee or drinks. Leisure provides a nice outdoor patio for dining, and is a great place to sit and people watch. As with the name, the Leisure Chill Out Cafe offers a very laid-back ambiance, and they also allow takeout food orders. Leisure is a great meeting spot to catch up with friends and have a bite to eat, and also doubles as a nice takeout lunch restaurant. The coffee here is excellent, and Leisure is a great place for smoking shisha.
