1. Emirate Heritage Village:
Your tour to Abu Dhabi will remain incomplete unless you experience how the Bedouins lived in an ancient era before the modern irrigation and agricultural systems came into practice. Emirate Heritage Village, situated a short distance from the Marina Mall, gives you a peek of what life was like for Abu Dhabi’s Bedouin by taking you on a simulated journey through their antediluvian desert encampment that includes a goat’s hair tent and campfire. There are several workshops within the village where you can try you skill making pottery or weaving. And, you can buy handicraft items to take home as souvenirs.
2. Exotic Beaches:
Abu Dhabi, with its 245 miles of coastline, has a lot of well-maintained beaches and resorts offering a range of entertainments from barbecue to sporting activities near the shore. Beaches like Khalidiya Beach or the man-made Al Lulu Island are ideal for a family holiday. Also, there is Snoopy Island where you can go snorkeling and see coral life in the transparent blue water. Most of the beaches along the western coast of Abu Dhabi are private beaches owned by posh hotels. However, you may buy a one-day pass to luxuriate in the fascinating beach experience at any of these hotels.
3. Desert Safari:
A breathtaking safari through the vast expanse of the sprawling desert is a must do in Abu Dhabi. You can rove around the Gulf desert either sitting on the back of a camel or you may go for dune driving or Wadi bashing to experience a thrill. Besides the exciting camel ride or dune bashing, mouthwatering barbecue meals flanked by the performance of Arabic belly dancers will round out the enjoyment of your safari experience.
4. Gustatory Pleasure:
Abu Dhabi offers a variety of world-class cuisine to suit any palate. Arabic or Indian foods are available at cheapest prices. Restaurants like Arabian Palace, Cettinad Restaurant and Anjappar Chettinad are famous for their delectable Indian and Arabic meals. Besides, Rodeo Grill, Benihana, Zen are some of the restaurants well-known for continental dishes.
5. Shopping Delight:
You can indulge in an exciting shopping expedition in Abu Dhabi as over 18 swanky shopping malls are scattered all around the city. Some of its biggest shopping malls include Marina Mall and Abu Dhabi Mall. Marina Mall has a wide range of stores selling top brands from Channel, Gucci and so on. Besides, the mall has a cineplex with the largest number of screens in the city. Abu Dhabi Mall, on the other hand, has about 200 stores including Tommy Hilfiger, The Body Shop and a 6-screen Cineplex. Other shopping venues in Abu Dhabi include Hamdan Centre, City Centre, Rotana Mall and the Madinat Zayed Shopping and Gold Centre.
