When to Go in Side

Edit This

When planning your vacation to Side, When to Go is one of the most important questions to answer. When planning your trip you want to ensure that you go during the best time of year so you can take part in as many activities as possible, including any local festivals.

April

If you choose to visit Side during the month of April, you might run into some rain, but the beautiful wild flowers and cherry blossoms that are in bloom are worth the rain. If you go toward the end of April, you want to plan your visit for April 23, which is National Sovereignty Day, a major national holiday in Turkey. Children’s Day also falls on April 23, and is celebrated throughout the country, but the main festivities are in Ankara.

May

The month of May is one of the best times to visit Side because of how perfect the weather is. The sun is shining all day long, but the temperatures are still on the cool side; the hotter temperatures come toward the end of June. In addition, to the perfect weather the month of May offers, May is the perfect time to take a Blue Voyage yacht cruise or to spend some time on the beach before all of the other tourists arrive.

June

If you visit Side in June, you are going to want to do so during the early part of the month, because as the days progress the temperature climbs. The early days of June offer long sunny days that are perfect for sightseeing or even beach-going.

October

If you are going in October, you will want to go towards the beginning of the month when the temperatures are still warm enough to enjoy the beach. Rain can start as early as the middle of October and can make sightseeing rather difficult. Something else to look out for during the month of October is the Kurban Bayrami, which is an important Islamic religious festival. You want to prepare for it ahead of time because the entire country shuts down for 4 to 5 days.

Months to Avoid

When you are making travel plans to go to Side, you want to avoid all of the summer months. The biggest reason that you want to avoid the summer months is that Side becomes very crowded especially on the weekends. With the huge crowds, trying to get into attractions, sightseeing will be rather difficult.
