Getting Around in Pamukale
Edit ThisPublic Transportation Options in Pamukale
When you’re trying to learn more about the various Pamukale transportation options, you need to know that Pamukale is a tiny town, and there’s nothing better than walking around by feet rather than using other forms of transportation. However, here are the options you have at hand.
Minibuses and Taxis
The auto transportation available in Pamukale consists of taxis and minibuses. The minibuses are commonly referred to by the locals as dolmuÅ. However, they are not widely used as a form of transportation throughout the city, as Pamukale is truly very small—about 600m by 800m. They are used mainly for transporting tourists to nearby cities like Denizli or to some of the popular sights around Pamukale. Minibus tickets cost less than $1. The vehicles are old but in a reliable technical condition. Taxis are a bit more expensive, with a rate of about $0.8 per kilometer. Be careful with them, as the rates get much higher at night, and the taxi drivers usually want serious tips.
Walking
Walking is definitely the best transportation option in Pamukale. The town is really small, and the accommodations and restaurants are concentrated in its center, so you really won’t have to walk distances longer than 50m to 100m. The streets are safe enough, the people are friendly, and you have no reasons to be afraid to travel by foot even when it is late at night.
