The site of Hasankeyf is very old, the real age is not known, may be more than 1000 years before BC. It is located 60 km SE of Batman in SE Turkey on the Tigris river. The know records indicates t 633 BC the city was ruled under Byzantine, the castle was built in 451. The city was occupied by muslims in 906. Seljuk Turks concurred the city in 1071. Artukoglu Family run the city from 1101 till 1300 and the than city has been ruled by the Ottomans.
