The Turkish coastal town of Fethiye is quickly growing. With its beautiful surroundings, warm weather and calming waters tourists are leaving the major tourist attraction of western Europe for something calmer, quieter and easier on the wallet. When it comes to traveling to Fethiye getting there is becoming easier by the day.

Flights

The most convenient and easiest way to get to Fethiye is to fly. There are a few direct flights that leave from UK and German airports. In the summer time, direct charter flights also increase in number from other European capitals. Otherwise, most flights will have a connection in Istanbul or Izmir. When flying direct to Fethiye, passengers will land at Dalaman international airport which offers a shuttle service to Fethiye via Gocek city. Most major hotels and resorts in Fethiye will offer their own shuttle and airport transfer service to and from the city.

Surface Travel

Visitors traveling within Turkey will find that reaching Fethiye by bus is possible. Istanbul is about a 12-hour bus ride with frequent overnight and all day rides. Izmir is about a 5-hour bus journey with hourly departures in both directions. All internal buses arrive at the Fethiye city center.

Visas

Turkish immigration requires nearly everyone to have some type of visa. For citizens of the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Visitors from the USA and most EU nations need a Type-2 visa. This can be purchased upon arrival in Turkey and is placed in your passport. The visas are good for 90 days for most passport holders.
