7 Day Itinerary in Fethiye
Edit ThisThe Turkish city of Fethiye offers a lot in the way of activities. Visitors who love the beach will appreciate the resort atmosphere near the sea side. Those who enjoy historical ruins will have more than they could ask for in Fethiye. Finally those who enjoy outdoor activities such as swimming, diving and climbing can have their pick of places. With so much to choose from, a Fethiye Itinerary is easy to make.
Day 1: Learn to Dive
The city of Fethiye sits comfortably on the Aegean sea and offers visitors some of the most spectacular diving opportunities. The Sea Horse Diving Center is an excellent place to learn whether you're a beginner or seasoned professional. The instructors are excellent at making you feel at ease while you explore the world below. The diving center also offers tours to practice what you have learned.
Day 2: Learn to Horse Back Ride
The Perma Ranch is a privately owned establishment and the owners are 2 expats who have relocated and made Fethiye their home. They offer horse riding lessons as well as a horse back riding tour of the Kaya Valley. Whether you have ridden regularly or don't know one end of a horse from the other, the Perma Ranch can find you a suitable animal.
Day 3: The Ruins of Tlos
The mountain village of Tlos is about a 30-minute drive outside of Fethiye. It is a touristy area but has some ancient ruins that are worth looking at. Tlos also has some great bars and restaurants to sample after a busy day of sightseeing.
Day 4: Old Town Fethiye
The old section of Fetihye is worth a day on your itinerary. It has beautiful narrow streets and old stone buildings, nearly everything that one would expect from an old style town. Life in the old town section runs at a very slow pace so allow yourself plenty of time of you plan to do a fair amount of shopping or eating. The local markets are great places to pick up some cheap food to take back and cook, top of the list is the fish market.
Day 5: V-Go Yachting
The V-Go Yachting Company offers boat tours around the area and to other nearby places such as Olympos and the islands. Tours are available from 1-day to several, offering guests an excellent choice of onboard activities. Swimming and scuba diving are among the choices.
Day 6: Butterfly Valley
This is a must see. Nearly every species of Mediterranean butterfly is right at your finger tips in Butterfly Valley. Allow yourself plenty of time to return to Fethiye if you go. There are no places to stay in the valley due to the fact that building is prohibited in the valley.
Day 7: Yaka Park
Yaka park contains an old watermill where guests can play in the stream. There is also an adjoining restaurant that allows you to select the fish from the tank that you want prepared for dinner.
