Sports Has Brought Joy to Erzincan

Erzincan is a candidate for becoming the capital of Turkey's open air sports activities with its placid lakes, rapid flowing rivers, spas, mountains, plateuas and valleys. In the valleys it is warm during certain seasons, however the mountains are snow-capped most of the year and are ideal for trekking and skiing. The dam lakes are perfect for water skiiing. Rafting on the river Fırat (Euphrates), which flows at a high velocity, and paragliding from the hills are sports activities enjoyed by visitors to these areas. All indicate that Erzincan can be considered a sports capital.
