Antalya sights include ancient cities in the surrounding areas, as well as many attractions within the city itself. Without a doubt, Antalya could be described as part historical museum, with such a deep tapestry of history. With its breathtaking views of the Mediterranean scenery, Antalya will captivate its visitors with fantastic museums, ruins, and several beaches to explore.

Museums

Antalya's most popular museum is the Regional Museum, which houses thousands of artifacts both on display and in storage. With 13 exhibit halls to explore, many travelers find it difficult to decide which is their favorite part of this museum. The Regional Museum's halls house many different exhibits, from the Natural History Hall to a Children's museum, which is the first of its kind in Turkey. Statues and small artifacts are on display in every hall of the museum.

Antalya Beach Park

No trip through Antalya would be complete without visiting Dolphin Land and Aqua Land Park. Water slides, performing dolphins, sea lions and white whales are sure to entertain the kids all day long, while the parents can enjoy beautiful waterfalls and other fantastic water features scattered throughout the park. Dedeman Aqua Park is also a popular attraction, packed with water slides, sunbathing spots, and food. Plus, this park is very easy to get to.

Ancient Cities

Phaselis is a city from the 6th century that Alexander the Great stayed in during the winter months. Filled with ruins of temples, theaters, amphitheaters, and aqueducts, this city also has a small museum full of details about its history. Olympos is an ancient city in the midst of a forest that surrounds the bay. Visit the Cirali, where flames are said to be coming from a mythical monster that was killed by a Lycian hero.

Beaches

Antalya offers a variety of beaches, ranging from those with ancient ruins in Adrasan and Phaselis to nude beaches. Most of these beaches have centers for watersports and other fun activities. There are beach clubs and waterfront bars. Konyaalti is a favorite among children because of its Dolphin Land attraction.

Aspendos

Aspendos is a charming countryside area that is home to the famous Roman amphitheater and boasts century-old ruins and history. It is a good place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city and spend an afternoon wandering the sights and picnicking. Perge is another of the popular sites in Antalya. Here, the remains of a Grecian-Roman theater, a stadium, and the tomb of Plancia Magna grace the quiet countryside of the area.
