Summer

The climate in Kuwait City is arid. Summer is from April until September. The hottest months are July and August. In the summers extreme temperatures are experienced and it is therefore not advisable to visit during this time. Temperatures can exceed 50C. There are high levels of humidity during summer. The temperatures during summer are unrelenting and high temperatures may prevail for weeks without interruption. During summer, avoid the harsh sun and make sure that you drink sufficient water to avoid dehydration. Air conditioning makes summer months more bearable. Dust storms are most prevalent during summer and it is rare to have rain in summer. Kuwait City is predominantly Muslim and it is necessary to respect the local culture. This means that even though the temperatures are extreme you should not wear short skirts or revealing clothing. The Aqua Park near the Kuwait Towers is a good place to go to escape the heat as there are rides and pools to enjoy.

Winter

In winter the weather is milder making this a better time for tourists to visit. During winter time there is a minimal amount of rainfall. January is the month that experiences the most rain. Winter months have an average temperature of 18C during the day and cold temperatures at night. December to February experiences the coldest temperatures and the temperatures can drop to 0C at night. To warm up you can go for a drink at one of the many tea houses which offer a variety of herbal teas.

Spring

Spring, which is from February until April, is an ideal time to visit Kuwait City. The weather is mild during spring. This is a beautiful time to visit and see the petunias.
