Umm Qais Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeWithout a doubt, Umm Qais should be on anyone's list of places to visit in Jordan. Located north of Irbid, the ancient site of Umm Qais overlooks the Golan Heights, Lake Tiberius and the Yarmouk River Valley. For several centuries (around 3BC) the city had served as a trade center for all of the region, and later under the Romans served as a resort.
Umm Qais remains a beautiful place to visit. The gardens are home to beautiful flowering trees, the guides are both knowledgeable and helpful, and a cafe above the archaelogical sight is home to refreshing drinks and friendly staff.
