Shobak Travel Guide

Shobak is located between Karak and Petra. It's 250 km from Amman. The reason to come here is the large Crusader castle. It was built around 1115 ADand was captured by Saladin in 1189.

The castle has great views over the surrounding countryside, but it is in a poor state of repair. All you can see is the outer walls, the keep and a dungeon. It is supposed to be restored now - but we have no information on that.
