Holiday Apartments

Tel Aviv has an array of clean, well-maintained budget holiday apartments apart from the many hotels nestled around the streets of this bustling beach town. Holiday apartments turn out to be cheaper for a longer stay for big groups and allow visitors to cook their own meals to save costs. The Haavakook Apartment Hotel located near a beach in the northern region of the city is a good bet for small albeit neat apartments that boast of a functional pool and gymnasium.  Priced at approximately $ 45 per night. Another practical pick in the same range is The Home Apartments located at the corner of Frishman Street. Visitors can pick from a spectrum of well-equipped apartments at comfortable prices.

Hostels and Hotels

Tel Aviv is filled with cheap hostels and modest resorts that redefine the experience of free-spirited and adventure travel- the stuff that nomadic travelogues are made of. A majority of the hostels in the city have dormitories where visitors can catch up with fellow travelers and share stories. The two most popular hostels in Tel Aviv frequented by budget travelers are The Gordon Inn located at Gordon Street and the conventionally charming Old Jaffa Hostel which has a friendly, relaxed and informal countenance and gives a stunning view of the sea beneath. Good option for families. The dormitory bed is priced at around $ 8 and the single rooms are priced $ 30 per night. Check out Hayarkon 48 Hostel that boasts of a good location and serves the most delicious breakfast in town. The staff is friendly and there is an in-house indoor games center and rooftop bar. Dorms cost $ 10 per night. A caution for visitors-There are many cheap sleep-ins crammed all over the city however many of them are shady, unclean and dingy black holes that offer to rent rooms by the hour. It is wise to check the accommodation in advance before making any payment.

Eating Out

Sample full-bodied local fare at Al Haderech, an unassuming eatery that deceptively hides its genius behind a plain façade. This place serves lip-smacking falafel and flavorsome chicken breast. The service is great and the fresh salads here are to die for. Eat sumptuous Eastern European cuisine at Bebale, an old-Jewish eatery that whips up great meatballs and gefilte fish. Expect generous portions at moderate prices.

Transportation

There are several budget car rental companies that are ideal for travelling. Some of the most well-known are Budget Car Rentals and Rhino Car Hire. Public buses and sheruts (mini-buses) are other cheap travel options.

Tel Aviv is a budget traveler’s delight and promises great beach-side fun and true adventure at a price that doesn’t hurt.
