Sakura is the only good Sushi place in Jerusalem.

It's small and you can't smoke there but sushi is great.

Not for budget traveler.

The Eucalyptus

The Eucalyptus

The Restaurant is one of the true culinary gems not only of Israel, but of all the places I have encountered on my world travels.  The Chef and his son are both famous chefs who have won many international cooking awards for Israel.  The restaurant provides its guests with an interactive dinner that helps them understand the ingredients that created their food and their history with the land from the time of the bible to the modern history of Israel.  I recommend to those who have never eaten at the Eucalyptus or might not have the opportunity more..

Green door pizza

Edit This

This little gem of a pizza outlet is one of my fondest memories of Israel and the West Bank back in the early 1990s, knocking out perfectly delicious Arab-style pizza for just a few sheckles, and all in an authentic Muslim Quarter atmosphere. In other words, no frills - meaning no restaurant area to speak of, but a few plastic chairs dotted around a bare and messy waiting area, with an old telly permanently running at full volume and a few chilled drinks to help you pass the time while the master chef conjures up another wonderful offering. The kitchen and waiting area more..

Uncle Moustach's felafel

Edit This

Uncle Moustaches, just inside Herod's gate in the Old City of Jerusalem is a cheap but wonderful place to get fleafel, chicken and rice soup and stories.  Not a fancy place but goot eats at a good price.  Ask to see the traveler's book if they still have it and read people's entries from all over the world.  See: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dolgin/4619918904/

Enjoy!
