When to Go in Tehran
Edit ThisNever Too Cold…Sometimes a Little Too Warm: When to Visit Tehran
Before you leave for Tehran, the most populated region and the cultural and business center of Iran, you may want to think about a few things. When it comes to Tehran, when to go is something you definitely need to consider.
Seasons
There are four distinct seasons in Tehran, an area in the north central part of Iran. Tehran is located near the Alborz mountain region, and mountains mean snow and rain. The cold season never gets too cold or too snowy.
Coldest Season
The cold season in Tehran begins around the end of November and generally lasts through the beginning of February. The average temperature during the coldest part, January, is between 32 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit (0 to around 5 degrees Celsius) with an average of around 15 inches of rain. There is some snowfall as well; it is heaviest closest to the mountains, why Tehran is a popular ski area in the winter.
Warmest Season
The hot, arid climate in the plains region of Tehran can experience temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the warmest months of July and August. It’s humid, too. The average temperatures during July range from around 80 to 96 degrees Fahrenheit (27 to 36 degrees Celsius) and the temperature starts to rise more rapidly near the end of April.
The Middle
Expect generally moderate conditions during September, October and November and then again in March and April.
