If you are going to be traveling to Iran, there are many forms of Tehran transportation to use. Many people prefer that bus and taxis in the city which provide good transportation and are affordable to use.

Taxis

There are usually taxis available in the city ,and you can decide which kind you want to take. If you have the hotel get the taxi for you, you will find they are usually older cars and are not able to go fast on the highways if you are going to be traveling out of the city. If you get the taxi service on your own, the cars are in better condition and can go faster.

The Metro

The metro is a clean and affordable Tehran transportation option. There are lines available to take you where you want to go in the city, and they have affordable rates. The train cars are segregated in the Metro, so women will need to sit in a certain car. You will need to check to see where you are supposed to sit. If men and women are traveling together, you will need to agree in advance which stop to exit the train.

Bus

The bus is a great way to travel in the city and can get you where you want to go, but it can be very crowded. They are also affordable and have a lot of routes around in the city, but be aware that they are often filled during some of the busiest times of day.
