On the southern slopes of the Troodos mountains, Pano Platres is favourite resort for Cypriots and tourist alike.
It is popular in the summertime with Cypriots to escape the heat of the towns, in the spring and autumn with visitors from overseas to enjoy the many nature trails of the area (caledonian waterfalls, mesapotamos trail, millomeris trail, artermis and krios potamos). Also popular during the winter & the ski season for its closeness to the ski centre in Troodos.
Platres has a variety of hotels and restaurants for the visitor and many people have summer/weekend homes.
