Troodos Mountains festivals are exciting, boasting of wine, music and Greek drama. They are sure to delight the entire family. Here, a festival is nothing rare or out of the ordinary. They are integrated into the daily lives of the people in Cyprus. Listed below are a few festivals that might be worth the experience.

Limassol Carnival

This colorful 11 day long festival takes place in February. It is a world wide festival, celebrated on the entire island with traditional floats and parades.

Limassol International Children’s Festival

This exciting festival is for the young and the young at heart. Taking place in May, it offers face painting, trampolines, clowns, song and dance, a puppet show, table games, etc.  It is a child's delight.

    Anthestiria

    This particular festival, taking place in May, is known as the spring flower festival. It is a gorgeous site to behold because during this festival, the island is filled with flowers. The flower-covered floats all have a focus on Ancient Greece.

    Greek Orthodox Easter

    This religious festival is maybe the most coveted of the Greek calendar. It begins on Good Friday to mark the death and burial of Christ. Saturday, there is a midnight mass to celebrate the resurrection of Christ.

    Epiphany

    Taking place on January 6th, this festival is a favorite of children who get to dive into the cold sea to retrieve a cross that priests throw into it in order to bless the sea.
