Larnaca Castle
Edit This
Along the beach, near Ankara Street you will immediately see Larnaca
Castle. It was built in 1625 and originally served as a prison. From
its promenade walls, enjoy a view of the Scala Quarter with its Buyuk
Kebir Cami (mosque) - formerly one of Larnaca's Turkish neighbourhoods.
Today the castle houses an impressive archaeological museum, built like
a labyrinth and dedicated to ancient Kition and later periods.
