Larnaca offers a wide choice of hotels of all classes. The downtown hotels are suitable for shorter stays and somewhat cheaper. The hotels on the north-eastern branch strip are of the sea resort type, well equipped with entertainment and sport facilities and medical assistance; they are normally very modern and rather more expensive. If you don't travel during the main tourist times it is not really necessary to make reservations. But if you don't have enough time or energy, do it. Sometimes it takes an hour or two to find a free, more or less cheap and clean room.
