The small island of Cyprus is known for wild nightlife and beach parties in Ayia Napa during the summer yet there are all other sorts of interesting day trips to take. No matter what you are looking for there is something on Cyprus for you. Ayia Napa is a great destination base to venture out from. If you wish to travel from the city to the other major cities buses, scooters and rental cars will be available to you. Activity companies have excursions to out-of-the-way areas. You can also choose from several jeep safari trips. These getaways are excellent for singles, groups or families.
Sea Caves
If you want to stay around the seacoast area but want to get away from the high intensity of Ayia napa’s party scene the sea caves are the place to go. They are located just outside the city, about 5 miles east of the city. It is a great place take that nice bike ride. Pack a lunch and especially bring a camera! The shore line is riddled with all sorts of nature’s creative art as the water fashioned the rock into all sorts of interesting shapes. You can gaze upon the Rock Bridge, the most enjoyed by the locals. It is a grand way to spend the day since it is also free of charge. Kerynia and Famagusta
If you are really into seeing some of the more native parts of Cyprus this type of trip is definitely for you. The jeep safaris travel to the north of Cyprus. You begin by going east to Famagusta which is also a situated on the coast. If you are into Middle Ages architecture then Bellapais will appeal to you. As you continue you can see the overwhelming northern coastal view. You end up in Kerynia, a city famous for its Greek history. There you are given time to peruse and enjoy the town. It is a great trip for the sight-seeing or the historically interested person. Lanraca Market Place and Town Center
This day trip is for those who love shopping with a bit of travel mixed in. Larnaca has one of the largest open air markets on Cyprus. It is a great trip for families. While you are there be sure to visit the Promenade and look at the beautiful sea as you sip on a drink in one of the city's many cafes. The buses run from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and makes one trip on Sunday. Fare is usually 7 euros 1-way or 10 euros for round trip.
