Practical Information in Uzbekistan

Edit This

Wherever possible organise to be met on arrival at Tashkent airport, especially if your flight arrives at a wierd time (e.g. BA, TK).  There are a lot of drivers just outside the hotel exit so ifyou dont arrange anything in advance, you should be able to get someone to take you to the hotel for about 10-20 USD

If you are not on an organised tour, its quite easy to travel from one city to another. Train is probably best, but buses are OK and car hire (iwth driver) is not expensive, or you can go to the city taxi/bus park and share a taxi with others.  You will probably need a local friend, or basic russian, to do this latter option.  Internal flights are not that expensive either, and certainly make sense going between Tashkent and either Nukus or Urgench/Khiva because of the distances.
