Malika Hotel

Khiva does not have many hotels. There are only two hotels to speak of in the old walled city (see the short list below).

You can also try and find a place to stay with one of the families. Most of them are willing to let you stay for a few som and it makes for a unique experience. You should have to go and get a permit from the OVIR, but most of the time they are not very strict about it. If you want to be on the safe side go to the OVIR, but if it's just for one or two nights give them a miss and just hope you are not checked.

Built in 2004, member of Malika Hotels in Khiva provides unique atmosphere just outside of Ichan Qala next to the Ata Darvaza. Designed in traditional style, the hotel is equped with amenities expected by foreign tourists from the comfortable hotel: air conditioning, separate bathroom with bath and shower, direct dial telephone.

130 rooms. 30 a double. 26 a single. Old converted medressa. Small rooms that can be quite suffocating, but not a bad atmosphere.
