Abay State Opera and Ballet Theatre
Situated at Qabanbay Batyr in the city center, this is one of the most popular cultural venues in the city. It is an ideal way to spend a quiet evening. The Abay State Opera and Ballet Theatre holds around 3 to 4 performances every week which begin at 6:30 p.m. Some of the classic performances that show regularly include Carmen, La Boheme, Swan Lake and Aida. The ticket office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to this, the theatre also plays wonderful Kazakh operas like Abay and Abylay Khan that are worth a watch.
If you are looking for a great place to dine at, Cuba is one of the best hotspots among tourists and locals. This is a Russian / Mexican restaurant that serves great food. A highlight of this restaurant is the live bands that play here, making the entire atmosphere simply great.
