This cathedral is considered one of Colombia’s most remarkable architectural structures, and has also been called the “Jewel of Modern Architecture.” The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá is located underground and was built by the Romans within the tunnels of a salt mine in a Halite mountain near the town of Zipaquirá.
