Jerba Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeThe Isle of Jerba is situated in the south-east of Tunisia on the Gulf of Gabes. The capital is the town of Houmt Souk. The island is sometimes dubbed "Polynesia of the Mediterranean". It has miles of fine sandy beaches and luxury hotels, but also Roman sites, apirates castle, the ancient synagogue of the Griba, and a number of fortress like mosques.
There are international flights to Djerba from many European capitals which makes it an excellent starting poitn for exploring the south of Tunisia. Should you be planning on going to Lybia Djerba is probably your easiest and cheapest option. When there were no international flights to Tripoli this is what everyone did.
