Family Travel Ideas in Hammamet

Edit This

One of the best attributes about Hammamet is that the city has many amusements which can be organized around a vacation for family travel. Even though it's usually considered a laid back adult vacation paradise, with a bit of imagination and good planning it can be a memorable time for families. Situated between several of the most historic areas in Tunisia, it's a treasure for all ages to see, including children or young adults.

Outdoor Activities

The interesting part of a vacation here is that it can also be educational without being boring. The outskirts of Hammamet shows evidence that it has changed a lot over the years. If you like to travel just a little, venture to just outside of Tunis. With your children you can have a great time viewing the ruins from a distance. If you're looking to be more exploratory, trek and search out relics of ages past. Since Hammamet is primarily a beach resort, 10 miles of water and sand allow for all types of water entertainment. Building sand castles, swimming, water skiing and water polo will be wonderful entertainment for adults, teens and younger children.

Entertainment Activities

An ideal time together for days of family fun is the Carthage Lund, an amusement park that has many rides available. You and your kids should try the Flume ride, it's a must! Just a short ride away in Sousse is the Acqua Palace. A new Medina is built around its huge water park, filled with all kinds of attractions for children. If you're courageous enough you can experience the Foam Toboggan and the Toboggan Drop, which are both breathtaking. Strolling through Friguia Park Zoo will give you opportunities of close access to the big cats and many other wild animals. Most of the animals are in settings of their original habitat. There is also a camel ride for around $1.00.

If you decide to stay close to your hotel, there are other options. A trip to the old Medina with your children can be an exciting time, seeing all the local arts and crafts for sale. In addition to all these particular attractions, most of the hotels have indoor and outdoor activities that come with your stay. Even if you don't want to go far from your hotel, it can still be fun.
