Tarangire N.P. Travel Guide

Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see
Tarangire National Park, NE of Babati, is dominated by a gently rolling landscape with scattered baobab trees or acacias. It is said to have the densest population of elephants in Africa. The Tarangire River provides drinking water for animals the year round, and it therefore has a very high density of all sorts of animals during the dry season. During the rainy season many of the animals migrate to better grazing areas to the West or East. Thus, dry season is the right time to visit the park.
The presence of oryx is particularly noteworthy. The park also harbours the Slale Swamps with a rich bird life.
