Sudan can be reached by road from Egypt Libya Chad Uganda and the Central African Republic. Entry via Ethiopia is at present not possible. Motorists must apply for permission to drive through Sudan well in advance. Applications must be made to government representatives abroad or in Khartoum listing vehicle and passenger details with documents from a recognised automobile club or guarantee from a bank or business firm.
