Day Trips in TranskeiEdit This
Exploring the Seams of Transkei or Wild Coast
There are several Transkei day trips to enjoy while you are on vacation. Now known as the Wild Coast, Transkei lives up to its name with several opportunities for great excursions. There are many interesting sights and sounds to see in the wild and spontaneous side of South Africa.
Technically, Morgan’s Bay is still part of the Eastern Cape of the Wild Coast, although it is relatively far from the original Transkei group of villages and municipalities. Morgan’s Bay is a small village which features the famous cliffs and a beach front that stretches a mile long. Morgan’s Bay and its beach are a great way to spend some time with family and loved ones while camping in front of its waters and watching the sunrise, sunset and ships. If you’re up for more activity, you can also go whale and dolphin watching, surfing and canoeing. For land activities, you can go rock climbing, trekking, horse riding or bird watching. Once a month, in keeping with the tradition of farmers going to this place for some vacation and to sell their products, Morgan’s Bay holds a craft market.
Just 40 kilometers off of East London in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Cintsa is an adventurer’s destination with plenty of budget hotels, hostels and bed and breakfasts. You can also camp in its beaches. They also have a rock pool which is a bonus to its stretches of beach front. This is a small village, and it is easy to explore by walking.
