South Africa's main airport is Johannesburg International Airport (nowadays called OR Temba International) with connections throughout Africa, as well as to all other continents. Good second is Cape Town International, with some direct flights to Europe & SE Asia, Durban also getting International Carriers turning around. which many find a better option to begin their journey.

Several bus companies provide services to neighbouring countries as well as to Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Railway connections used to exist to Botswana and Mozambique.
