Halls Country House
Edit ThisLocation: In the foothills of the Central Drakensberg with easy access to both the Southern and the Northern 'Berg. Plus the largest arts and crafts ramble in South Africa is on your doorstep.
Architecture: Interesting. It's a 100 year old farmhouse that was originally a Natal Verandah house. Over the years most of the verandahs have been used to expand the living space. In odd ways. It's farmhouse "quirky" now.
Accommodation: Well it's been given 4 stars by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa so you need to have no concerns about standards of cleanliness or the quality of the linen. Or the standard of service.
Food: The bar and restaurant are open every evening. It's a farmhouse in a deep rural setting. No shops just around the corner. So from a food point of view the watchwords are organic and homemade. Not "cheffy" but tasty.
Hospitality: Words like "attentive", "caring" and "warm" spring to mind.
