Taleex or Taleh (somali: Taleex) is a town of 40,000 and the administrative center in the Taleex district of the Sool region located in northeastern somalia.
It was the center of the anti-colonial movement led by Mohammed Abdulah Hassan until 1921, when Hassan and his Dervish followers were defeated. Taleex was subsequently subjected to aerial bombardment, and Hassan was forced to abandon his palace there and retreat into the Ogaden
