Beaches in SeychellesEdit This
The Seychelles Islands offer some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The area abounds with coral reefs and magnificent tropical fish along with soft luxurious sand and sun. You have many islands on which to sun your self.
Anse Lazio is a magnificent beach on the northwestern side of the island. The sand is white dotted with palm and takamaka trees. There are large granite boulders here and there that the kids can climb on. The reef protects this beach so swimming is the main activity here. Snorkeling is very satisfying as well. There are some hotels and resorts near this beach and you can eat at the Anse Lazio Café on the beach.
This island has a lot of beaches from which to choose but one of the best is Beau Vallon Bay Beach. This was probably the first tourist beach destination when visitors first began to come to the island. This beach is big and the waters are clear. There are beach facilities making it a good place to take a family. Take a trip on Teddy’s Glass Bottom Boat to see all the tropical fish and coral near the reef. It is easy to get to and near the city of Victoria.
Intendance Beach is also on Mahe and is a wide beach that is loved by surfers. There are multi-directional currents that make it difficult to swim but the Banayn Tree Resort on the beach let’s swimmers know if it is safe or not to swim. This is where the turtles come to nest.
La Digue Island
Anse Source D’Argent has a pink color to the sand and there are huge boulders that serve as barriers between beaches. This beach is also protected by a reef so you can swim and snorkel here. This beach is the one you see on most post cards that sport beaches. The sand is clean and the water turquoise blue and clear as a bell. This beach is a bit less commercialized that some of the others so there are limited facilities.
You are sure to find a beach that suits your needs in the Seychelles. From surfing to swimming to snorkeling, there is one just for you.
