Taxi's are always a good cheap way to get around. You can go easily from town to town for about 2,000-3,000 cfa ($4-6) but you have to barter. The drivers will start at a high price (about $10 for us) but you can usually get it down pretty quickly.

If you want a real cheap and very African way to get around; try a rapid. They are big colorful buses that the locals will cram into. They stop at several key areas around each town as well as travel between. If you find one of the bus stops and tell just about anyone standing there where you want to go, they will tell you, more..
