Volcanoes national park Travel Guide

The Volcanoes National Park is located in the west of the country, close to the city of Gisenyi. The park is one of the last sanctuaries of the mountain gorilla in the world. Guided tours of the park can be organized in Kigali through the ORTPN offices. It is advisable to book well in advance.

The park consists of a range of volcanic mountains, of which two, both across the frontier in Congo Kinshasa, are still active.
