Eating Out in Kigali

Edit This
Kigali offers 2 types of eateries: international restaurants catering mostly to foreigners and local establishments serving brochettes and buffets. Street food is non existent.

Kigali's restaurants are some of the best in the region, but you will have to pay for the pleasure as most places charge 10 USD (in 2011) per main dish. Luckily local places are fairly cheap, but expect to wait more than one hour to get your food. Lunch buffets are plentiful and fast in downtown Kigali and cost around 3 USD (in 2011).

Royal Garden Restaurant

Sol e Luna

Edit This

There is some dispute over which pizza is the best in Kigali. Sol e Luna is one of the contenders. It has a great view, and great service. Try going on Monday nights for quiz night at 8:30. You can join all of Kigali's anglophone community trying to win free dinner. Ask to join any table that has less than 7 players. Sol e Luna is on the road to the Airport just before the Remera roundabout.

Papyrus

Edit This

UPDATE: Sadly this place has closed but the owner has opened another restaurant and bar around the corner.

This is one of the best pizza's in town. And has the added bonus of turning into a dance bar on the weekend. Ask any moto taxi and they will be able to take you to Papyrus. Service is friendly and fairly quick.
