Rather than stay at a western style Taroudant hotel, try a guest house or bed and breakfast instead. In Morocco they are called riads. Hotels try and imitate western décor but a guest house or bed and breakfast offers genuine hospitality. You will have rooms that are modeled after the local style and the kind of service you can only receive at an independently owned establishment. The prices are comparable or cheaper.

Riad Maia

The peaceful interior of this Taroudant bed and breakfast is a highlight of the stay. This place to stay is an oasis in comparison to the chaos of Morocco. There are only 3 rooms at the Riad Maia and the owners are respectfully friendly. Room service amenities include massages, car rental with a private driver and dinner.

Dar Tara

This wonderful old farm in a small village has been rehabbed with taste and simplicity. You will be thankful to breath in fresh countryside air. The owners are French and give a warm welcome. The partially covered swimming pool was a respite from the summer weather. Spotless rooms have air conditioning and are decorated tastefully. The mountain views are beautiful and this magical place is tranquil and relaxing. Scrumptious food will delight your taste buds.

Dar Omaima

Another fabulous and comfortable guest house in Taroudant is Dar Omaima. Get cozy in your clean room. The meals are home cooked and are magnificent. In the morning enjoy fresh bread, fruit, juices and pancakes. Walk only 10 minutes to downtown. The roof terrace has a good view and is nice in the early morning or at night. Sleep to the sounds of a real Moroccan neighborhood.

Riad M’Haita

Outside Taroudant is the very comfortable and pretty Riad M’Haita. The first floor rooms open out to the lush and well planted courtyard. Ample beds are comfortable and there is both a ceiling fan and an air conditioner. There are communal areas here with a music player, fireplace and sofas. Several patios, roof decks and balconies offer privacy from other guests. Dinner may be pre-booked and the menu is very limited but rotating. The breakfast was breads with beverages.

Riad Ain Khadra

The beautiful and spacious rooms at the Riad Ain Khadra always receive accolades. The owners are open and have great energy. The pool here is large and luxurious and so are the bathrooms. Clean and bright rooms are individually decorated and have scented candles, fresh flowers. The terrace offers a scenic view.
