M'Hamid is the last village before large tracts of rocks and sand in the Sahara. The road to get there is magnificent: Zagora and it's famous sign "Timbuktu, 52 days of camel," the Jebel Zagora, which offers a beautiful view over the valley of the Draa, Tinfou dunes, along the wadi Drâa and its palm trees, strewn with kasbahs and ksours ... After a slow progression on the winding roads of Jebel Bani, you're really in the desert.
The small village of M'Hamid, with its low adobe houses, seems to be out of the sand. At the entrance of the village, on the right, there is the small square where stands the souk, on Monday morning; further, the village center with its souvenir shops and coffee in the village. Spend a few hours there and soon you will know everything about local life www.mhamid.com
