Practical Information in Merzouga
Edit ThisThis Merzouga practical information is what you need in order to safely maneuver your way in this little village in Morocco. Merzouga is a perfect place for people to get a glimpse of the nomadic life of Arabs and Berbers.
Transportation
What makes getting around the village difficult is that the roads are not yet well-developed so you have to rent a jeep and drive your way around the sand to get to your destination within the village. However, what makes it all the more problematic is the fact that the sand can easily penetrate the car’s engine thus you end up having a flat tire or a sand-filled engine. To remedy this, most people end up getting a camel ride to go to different places in this village.
Village Life
It is important to take note that most inhabitants in this village are nomads thus they move from one place to another. This also means that the village itself does not have any high class hotels where you can sleep in for the night. In fact, you are better off arranging for a Berber or Arab family to take you in for the night. Moreover, the village does not have any ATMs thus you need to arm yourself with a lot of cash before you go to this village to have an adventure.
