The Café du Livre is a second hand bookstore and restaurant in the heart of the new center Guéliz with an impressive collection of contemporary english literature for sale as well as guidebooks for browsing, artbooks on Morocco, international newspapers and magazines. It also has great food served non-stop from 9.30 to 21.00 for very reasonable prices. It's cosy and lowkey, has wi-fi connection and clients are all super interesting. What a find! It's tucked away in the patio of the old fashioned Hotel Toulousain. Not to be missed. They also have chess tournaments on sunday mornings.

A cheapy just north of the Hotel de France on the Jma-l-Fna. Nothing fancy, but a good bowl of soup and a nice tajine for a few dirhams.

More expensive than the stalls on the Jma-l-Fna but with an excellent view of the square with the mountains on the back (weather permitting). Good option.

Key West

A huge brand new restaurant that boasts the best cuisine and concept in my opinion, it has French/Thai fusion cuisine at a very resonable price(cheaper than most places). Enveloped in a great decor with an atmosphere that is just simply amazing( belly dancers, great music and professional-friendly service). Its in Gueliz next to the Diesel shop, off avenue mohammedV. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting marrakech, it will certainly be a talking point for when you come back.

Great Buffet with Tajines, salad and couscous. Suitable fro vegetarians. Rue Moulay Ismail, just south of Jma-l-Fna. hakima guelmoussi: it's a great place to go to
