Marrakesh is an exotic and rich cultural destination with its spice markets, old madrasas, medieval mosques, ancient tombs and magnificent palaces. There’s so much you can do in this fancy Moroccan town, from learning how to cook delicious Moroccan cuisine to going quad-hiking through the deserts of the region. Here is a 7-day itinerary for exploring the charm of Marrakesh.

Day 1-Djemaa El Fna

Visit Djemaa-Fna, the square in the heart of Marrakesh that houses several historical sites, interesting museums, old buildings and a large assortment of stalls selling fine Moroccan food. Start with the Koutoubia Mosque, a masterpiece minaret, known as the Eiffel Tower of Marrakesh. Proceed to the Dar Si Sid Museum, which contains a collection of artifacts from the Moroccan legacy ranging from carpets, pots, and ceramics to clothing and musical instruments. At night, enjoy the performances of musicians, story-tellers, magicians and dancers at the square and savor a Moroccan meal in the backdrop of drum beats.

Day 2- Saadian Tombs

Visit Saadian Tombs at Rue de la Kasbah, a 20th century discovered site, that  chronicles the glory of the Saadian rulers. The tombs are well-preserved and decorated with Moroccan mosaics. Proceed to the Majorelle Gardens, a beautiful park boasting of a fine collection of botanical species from around the world. There is also a Musuem of Islamic Art in the park premises.

Day 3- Palaces

Visit the El Bahia Palace, a popular guided tour attraction that depicts the life of 19th century Moroccan royalty. There is a nice courtyard and a spacious garden with a striking tapestry of flowers. Move to the El Badi Palace, the ruins of a once glorious site that has some mysterious underground passageways to discover.

Day 4- Marco-Expe Rondo Qua

Go on the famous quad ride through the Berber villages and desert exploratory trails of the Moroccan desert.

Day 5- La Maison Arabe Cooking Workshops

Learn the fine art of cooking fantastic Moroccan cuisine with this class held outside the external strip of the Medina on the hotel-owned property. The expert chefs will demonstrate super techniques for visitors to be able to whip up a Moroccan meal in a matter of a few hours. Enjoy cooking in a relaxed and tranquil setting. Discover the Medina of Marrakesh, which is a World Heritage Site. There are quaint Kasbahs, mosques and old town squares.

Day 6- Les Bains de Marrakech

Spend a relaxing day at the Les Bains de Marrakesh, located at 2 Derb Sedra. The romantic getaway is ideal for couples who want a soothing massage and the famous hammam baths in the ambiance of bright floating candles and rose petals.

Day 7- Shop at a Souk

Visit the Arabian Nights flea markets of Marrakesh to bag great deals on souvenirs and traditional items ranging from spices, dry fruits, ceramic tea-pots and shoes to kaftans, carpets, lanterns, jewelry and carved wooden handicrafts. The Medina Souk is the most popular.
